Overcoming Trauma Disorders

Trauma comes in all shapes and sizes and is often misunderstood. Modern research also shows that it is also a common gateway to mental health issues, strained relationships, concentration and communication problems, and potential abuse of substances. Everyone is affected by trauma but not everyone has the time or ability to navigate where their trauma comes from and what to do about it. We help you identify possible sources of pain and stress and put you on the road to healing. Our professional clinical staff are trained to help you discover and process unresolved issues that need individualized support.

Trauma-Informed Support

Stabilization: Trauma and anxiety have a way of stealing our time, attention, and energy and keep us in a state of discomfort and distraction. One of our primary goals is to help you slow down, get grounded, and find the space to address issues from your past. Our medical team, program staff, our curriculum, and weekly activities all work together to provide you with trauma-informed support.  Yoga, meditation, healthy food, medical attention, and practical tools are all part of the process of getting you grounded and in the right headspace for personal work.  These important adjustments to your lifestyle are an important part of healing.

Once that support is in place we have a range of trauma-specific modalities to help address and process your concerns. These include:

  • Cognitive processing therapy (CPT)
  • Brainspotting
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Somatic Experiencing Tools (SE)
  • Neurofeedback? Need more details.

Self-Regulation and Trauma. The program is designed to help you develop new trauma awareness and response skills that improve your quality of life. However, changing mindset and altering your lifestyle takes time and practice. Managing those changes and organizing yourself is going to take some work. Self-Regulation is a key aspect of growing as an individual and treating trauma. Self-Regulation: Is the ability to understand and manage signs and signals from your body and mind regarding stress. Our team works with you to fine tune your new tools for managing stress as you build the life you want.
